Jumblebee is an online fundraising site “helping Communities, Charities, Schools, Individuals, Clubs and Businesses raise money for good.” According to its FAQs ‘For online auctions, jumblebee charges 5% + VAT of total monies raised.’ The business certainly does raise money for good causes but seems curiously prone to fundraising for hunts including in the first half of 2024 alone one in February for the Percy Hunt, in March for the Bedale Hunt and another for the South Devon Hunt where shooting and hunting were being offered as a prize (see attached image), in April for the Wilton Hunt, and in June for the notorious Royal Artillery Hunt which has been recorded many times chasing foxes on or near Salisbury Plain. In September 2024 Jumblebee hosted an auction for the notorious Blackmore & Sparkford Vale Hunt. In March 2021 a campaign led to a tweet from League Against Cruel Sports saying “#Jumblebee has now removed all trace of hunt auctions from its website. We can only hope the company, faces up to the fact that fox hunts are not a good cause & removes all association with fox hunting for good.” Clearly not. Jumblebee is still making money from supporting hunting…
