“Our aim was to create rustic luxury in the Northumberland countryside – a place to switch off and unwind. We know we’re lucky to live in a such a [sic] beautiful location and we’re so pleased we’re now able to share it…We’re in the middle of nowhere, offering a wonderful escape from everyday life and a chance to be surrounded by nature and nothing else.” Now that sounds wonderful, who wouldn’t want views of the beautiful countryside, all that wildlife – and venue owner Jamie Wood out shooting some of that nature that is being sold to Huts in the Hills clients. Shooting? Look at the ‘About Us‘ page and you’ll discover that Mr Wood “also enjoys all country pursuits, particularly running the shoot on the farm.” While that’s all the information available on Huts on the Hills, sister business (also operated by the Woods) ‘Valais Blacknose Sheep‘ is a little more upfront, listing ‘Shoot’ under ‘Farm’ in the Menu and adding support for the local hunt for good measure: “The Shoot is owned and run by Jamie Wood who has recently became a partner in the business with his father Brian. He has recently revamped the shoot putting up new pens and game covers. Jamie has always been a keen countryman supporting his local Hunt and also enjoys fishing, hawking, and deerstalking in Scotland.” We assume the hunt will be the Percy Hunt which is operated by the ‘sporting Percys’ out of Alnwick Castle, a short drive to the east…
