Seemingly official jewellers to much of the non-royal horsey set “Established in 1994, Hiho Silver has been crafting a wide variety of artisanal jewellery designed to take you ‘from mucking out, to going out’. Based in the scenic BlackDown Hills of Somerset, these exquisite pieces are eclectically inspired by the beauty of the Countryside and the rich Equestrian culture which resides there.” Showing at major equestrian events (and the Game Fair, the annual celebration of killing wildlife), the company’s official website says that “Hiho is led by Andrew [Ransford] & Emma”. Andrew Ransford calls himself ‘king of the road’ and describes himself as a ‘farmer at heart’. He owns a number of horses and his current bio doesn’t tally with another on ‘Eventing’ from 2015 when Mr Ransford humble bragged that “he spends 6 months of his life attending events and the 6 months of winter hunting with the Cotley. He describes the lifestyle as fun but very hard work.” Perhaps age has dimmed his ardour a little, but hard to imagine that Mr Ransford doesn’t still support fox hunting or that his colleagues are unaware of that support…
