Heardy’s Hogroast is a family-run business based in Padstow. Their website says they “pride ourselves with locally sourced Cornish produce with the highest standards for any type of celebration or occasion”. Highest standards? Perhaps if they were serious about that they would mention that Heardy’s is run by Stephen Heard who was prosecuted for hound abuse by League Against Cruel Sports in 2001 and has been banned twice from keeping animals. More recently, Heard was found by West Cornwall Hunt Sabs in October 2024 at a meet of the North Cornwall Hunt – he had turned up in his work vehicle, either too arrogant to care that he could be easily identified or touting for business…
