Selling an image of ‘the countryside’ and ‘sports’ that focuses strongly on the anachronism of fox hunting while revering the cosplaying redcoat, Hares & Grace is all about “Lovingly handcrafted unique pieces that capture the essence of our Great British countryside and Sporting Life…Beautifully detailed handcrafted Hunting Ornaments….Taken from our own Hunt Master & Hound designs…our Hunt Master design encapsulates this spirit with elegance and grace.” Everything looks very well-made but presumably this sort of merchandise goes down best with a certain set of old-school, nostalgic ‘hunters’ who want to display their resistance to the Hunting Act by wearing hunt-themed base layers or hunt master key rings – it’s but very difficult to see the attraction to anyone else, especially to those of us who don’t view the ‘countryside’ in terms of hunting and shooting wildlife…
