Based (according to Companies House) in Corsham, Wiltshire, H & B Pethers are barely visible online, having a dead-in-the-water Facebook page last updated in 2019 which says the business is “Fencing, Landscaping and Maintenance”. That doesn’t explain why an Oliva Pethers-branded vehicle sponsored by H & B Pethers was photographed by Mendip Hunt Sabs at a meet of the notoriously violent Mendip Farmers Hunt (MFH) at Pennsylvania Farm (near Bath) in February 2025. But was Olivia one of the riders that day? Interestingly she was listed in 2018 as taking part in the SW Eventing Championships as a member of the Avon Vale Hunt team (the disgraced hunt that was forced to fold after being filmed – by one of their own! – digging out a fox and throwing it to the hounds). An Avon Vale terrierman, Ben Pethers, certainly transferred to the MFH, presumably Olivia Pethers did the same? Also of note is that the MFH’s sweary huntsman Sam Colbourn also runs a landscaping company – SC Landscaping. He was photographed chatting with the rather distinctively tattooed Ben Pethers (the driver of the Pethers-sponsored vehicle) at the meet – they would have been sharing tree-planting tips rather than how to illegally destroy the local wildlife, of course…
