“Whether you seek a romantic getaway, a relaxing weekend with friends, or a base for exploring the beauty of Hampshire, The Greyhound caters to your desires” says the pub’s website, hinting at what those ‘desires’ might be by acknowledging that “the pub’s name reflected the area’s rich history of hare coursing with greyhounds” (clearly the owners feel no need to distance themselves from that cruel history). Part of the Wilds & Co ‘family’, the pub’s website says that they “endeavour to appeal to all requirements; from light lunches to shooting dinners”. The Greyhound on the Test advertises itself in the sidebar of the County Deer Stalking website (along with Swarovski Optik) and plugs Robjent’s, a local store which offers “a diverse range of high quality shooting and fly-fishing equipment, clothing and accessories”.
