Run by Thurlow Estate Management Ltd whose Directors include a gaggle of Vesteys, one of the wealthiest families in the UK and including current Pony Club UK Chair Tim Vestey (a Director of the Countryside Alliance from 2014 -2018 and current Director of the Puckeridge Hunt) and brother Robin who is a Master of Foxhounds and President of the Thurlow Hunt Supporters Club (more of which below). Great Thurlow Hall is part of the National Gardens Scheme (“Great Thurlow Hall Garden was developed in the middle of the last century by the present owner’s grandfather” and described as “an English idyll”). The Hall Barn (a much grander building than the name might suggest) can be hired out. Given its connections with the Vesteys we can only wonder whether the Thurlow Hunt supporters would have had to pay to hold their fundraising ‘ball’ there in March 2025? We don’t know the cost of that of course, but we can’t put a price on the taunting and provocative images – taken by one of the ball’s guests and briefly leaked online – showing smirkin, mocking attendees repeatedly posing with a stuffed fox. Classy, really classy…
