Formerly “Home of the Knights of Glin, On the banks of the River Shannon”, Glin Castle has ancient roots but is currently home of Catherine Fitzgerald and actor and ‘countrysportsman’ Dominic West (think The Wire and The Crown for example). Mr West is an enthusiastic shooter and famously ‘appeared’ to break lockdown rules during the pandemic to go shooting with friends, and seems to be just as enamoured with hunting with hounds. Glin Castle hosts an annual meet of the North Kerry Harriers, a well-established hunt in a country where fox hunting is still legal.
