Hunts do seem to choose the nicest places for their gatherings – thereby ruining them for us pro-wildlife folk – and in August 2024 the West Percy (who appear to have largely rebranded by dropping the word ‘Hunt’ from their social media) held their summer garden party fundraiser at Glanton Pyke…which is owned by former Evening Standard chief-exec Charles Yardley and which is literally just a short ride down the road from the hunt’s kennels at Beanley.
