G&D Watchman says “We are based on Junction 60 A1(m) Sedgefield, Cleveland, Co Durham, selling cars at very reasonable…”. Cost or price, the ‘Intro’ on Gareth Watchman’s moribund Facebook trade page doesn’t say, but as the last entry is May 2024 we don’t suppose anyone is in any great rush to find out. Could it be that ‘Gary’ has been spending more time trying to defend hunting than selling cars? Possibly, but while Gareth Watchman joined the Zetland Hunt as joint-master and huntsman in May 2022 (having spent three years in the same position at the Berwickshire Hunt and the South Durham Hunt prior to that) and was a very prominent figure in the sham ‘trail hunting day’ arranged by the desperate British Hounds Sports Association in September 2024 to counter literally tens of hours of video and thousands of images proving that hunts are still killing wildlife, he – according to North East Hunt Monitors (NEHS) – resigned from the hunt just two months later after ‘a brawl at the kennels’ (probably not coincidentally NEHS reported that Watchman had to resign from the South Durham “due to allegations of pocketing money from hunt funds”). The brawl came about, NEHS claimed, because “Gareth is still unable to keep his bar in his pants when it comes to ladies who are taken already”. We are in no position to either confirm or deny that, but would we buy a used car from him? Not a chance…
