Like many of the other Irish country pubs listed on bloodbusiness.info there isn’t very much online about Fox’s Bar. It is apparently “an age old pub on the Hill of Skryne that is warm and welcoming. Typical of an old Irish pub it displays warmth and character for a relaxing drink.” And like many of the other Irish pubs we’ve listed, the warm welcome (with plenty of alcohol) is extended to fox hunts. A January 2025 report in the pro-hunt Irish Field stated that “There is no shortage [of Guinness] in Fox’s Bar in Skryne …as witnessed at the Tara Harriers meet there” After the hunters terrorised foxes during the hunt, they returned to Fox’s Bar where “hospitality was awaiting”. Fox hunting is still (shamefully) legal in Eire – which quite simply means that any pub that hosts a meet like this is complicit in animal abuse.
