“An annual event held on the beautiful Fonthill Estate near Tisbury, Wiltshire. It is a lovely family day out for dogs and their carers.” Perhaps, but those families will be supporting the South & West Wilts Hunt, because Fonthill Dog Show is run by the South & West Wilts Hunt Supporters Club – which means money raised by visitors will go to support hunting. In a very telling example of ‘pulling back the veil’, the show even has a prize for Best Terrier belonging to a S&WW Hunt Supporter. The Hunt’s kennels at Motcombe are not far from Fonthill. The estate is owned by Alastair Morrison, the 3rd Baron Margadale, and is regular territory for the Hunt (as well as for bird shooting).
