“Art loving couple Tim and Denise Hardy bring more than 40 years experience in the art world to their Fitzwilliam Fine Art galleries in picturesque Hawkshead and Grasmere. Featuring contemporary oils of animals by Ruby Keller [the pseudonym of Cumbrian artist Peter Worswick] and wildlife studies by Carl Whitfield [an artist based in Leeds], along with the landscapes of Allan Morgan feature prominently in Lake District galleries…”. The ‘animal’ painters linked to may be interested to know that they’re paying a commission for the sale of their paintings (and both artists feature fox portraits) to a supporter of the notorious North Cumberland Hunt, who met at the home of the Hardys in Ireby in November 2024. The Fitzwilliam Galleries Lancashire Hunt Sabs reported that their vehicle was later blocked in by Mr Hardy (and a car belonging to huntswoman Holly Wybergh’s mother), who used his car to block a public highway. The Hardys are also on the Black Lion Community Group committee, which is looking to re-open a former pub, the Black Lion in Ireby, which will be used to provide “a wealth of new opportunities and services for locals and tourists” – including the North Cumberland, perhaps?
