On its website. Enville says “The Estate has a mixed residential portfolio of traditional agricultural cottages, period farmhouses, innovative conversions and more substantial country houses, ideally situated throughout the undulating countryside of South Staffordshire”. Traditional? Countryside? That’s often code for “we support hunting and/or offer shooting”… And of course they do. One of the Directors, Peter Brinton, is also a Director of the Albrighton & Woodland Hunt. The hunt meet regularly on the estate and Locals opposed to the Albrighton Hunt have discovered that tenant farmers have to agree to allow the hunt on their land whether they want them trespassing and chasing wildlife across their farm or not. The links to ‘countryside pursuits’ don’t stop there. “Enville Estate has a well established shoot in the West Midlands on the Staffordshire/Shropshire border covering 6,500 acres of mixed agricultural land and forestry. The terrain lends itself very well to shooting, making use of some good valleys surrounded by rolling countryside.” They even provide a photo gallery showing jolly folk enjoying killing pheasants and use black and white to make it seem ‘evocative’.
