Under ‘Things to do‘ Ednam lists eg The Textile Trail and 100-mile cycle route, but this being Scotland and on the edge of the vast Roxburghe Estate they of course want to appeal to the travelling shooter…”Shooting parties are well accommodated at Ednam House”, they tell us, and indeed promotionals for the nearby Calroust Shoot mention staying at the Hotel. Further spoiling the image of burbling rivers, Ednam’s shooting pitch features a photo of a shooter wearing ear defenders to protect his hearing from the percussive blasts of his and other guns going off. Frankly, the everyday ‘hum of daily life’ sounds preferable…
