Preserving History, Promoting Conservation, Celebrating Culture…A highland estate which is a contemporary and diverse rural business based on the Isle of Arran and history dating back to the 1850s.” Just for once, wouldn’t it be wonderful for an estate in Scotland to highlight ‘conservation’ and turn its back on releasing non-native species into the wild just for people to shoot at. But no, Dougarrie is yet another depressing Scottish wedding venue, holiday let, and golfing venue that offers “challenging pheasant and partridge shooting from ancient oak woodlands… with views of the sea and the mountains with you at all times.” Because nothing says ‘coastal Scotland’ like Asian pheasants and lead shot raining out of the sky. Do estate owners read the stuff they publish? There is so much of this guff online, as the supporter who sent us the info said “There must be a factory or some AI program churning out these identikit websites”. Indeed.
