As we regularly point out, Point to Points are built around keeping hunts in the public eye. According to the British Horseracing Society, Point-to-Point Steeple Chases are for horses owned and ridden by members of an affiliated Hunt. A fixture can either be arranged by a Hunt or group of Hunts. Hunting’s ‘friendly face’ they often feature a dog show and are recruiting vehicles for hunts. Dingley Races is a point-to-point fundraiser for a number of hunts. The first meeting “of the 2026 season” is hosted by the Pytchley with Woodland on Easter Saturday, and ‘Dingley in Photos’ lists (with a complete disregard for grammar) “Many photo’s [sic] of the great racing days at Dingley Races. Hosted by The Pytchley with the Woodland Hunt, The Fernie Hunt and the Fitzwilliam (Milton) Hunt. Many thanks to Rose Rodgers for most of the photo’s [sic].” The list of sponsors willing to lie down with hunting and wildlife abuse is shameful – we do have to wonder once the charade of ‘trail hunting’ is banned and the truth is out just how many of these supporters will still want to be associated with hunts…we will see.
