“Play – Eat – Gather – Revive” says the website of Dainton Park, a “Devon Golf Club working hard to break down the barriers within the golfing world, encouraging greater participation and social mobility.” Given the ‘male, pale, and stale’ image of the crusty old traditionalists that make up the ‘board’ of many golf clubs, we can only applaud an initiative to open up a club to anyone who might want to join it.
