“We are a BHS Approved Heavy Horse Riding and Rare Breed Centre in Cumbria, the Lake District National Park. We produce horses to high standards and live for our beautiful horses! Shire, Clydesdale, Suffolk Punch and Ardennes beauties.” We’re not horse riders ourselves and probably wouldn’t have even realised this business existed if (presumably) the owner of Cumbrian Heavy Horses (Annie Rose) hadn’t started to leave wildly inaccurate pro-hunting and anti-activist comments on websites up and down the country, including Protect the Wild (see attached) and Three Counties Hunt Sabs (in her comment she accused sabs of being ‘nasty lying vindictive terrorists’ and having no idea ‘how the countryside works’). We all have opinions of course, but it’s surprising to be so ‘ranty’ when there is so much evidence of illegal hunting online, including – coincidentally – two Lake District foot packs being served with Community Protection Warnings in early 2025 after complaints from the public.
