The homepage of the Culm Valley Inn states “Local Ingredients & Devon Lifestyle” in big letters and boasts “loads more entertainment for all the family”. Devon is one of the most shot-over and hunted-over parts of the country, and the Culm Valley Inn seems to support the seedier Devonian “lifestyle” and “entertainment” side of animal abuse by hosting the Vale of Taunton & Banwell Harriers (the remains of several hunt mergers in recent times) after they were sabbed by the Devon County Hunt Sabs. The same Taunton-based Harriers were caught hunting a fox in December 2025 by the Somerset Hunt Saboteurs, and in a previous incarnation Huntsman Guy Landau of the then-named Weston & Banwell Harriers with West Somerset Vale Hunt pleaded guilty to a Hunting Act Offence at Taunton Magistrates Court in May 2024.
