Situated on the Belvoir Estate, “Croxton Village Shop, on the High Street in Croxton Kerrial, is a convenient place to source everyday items without having to go into a town to find a supermarket.” Sure, but on the other hand, the Belvoir Estate is owned by David Manners, the grouse moor owning Duke of Rutland, and home to the Belvoir Hunt aka ‘The Duke of Rutland’s Hounds’. That perhaps explains the slavering enthusiasm the shop showed on their Facebook page to an appearance “at our Summer Fair” of the Belvoir hounds (which is hardly likely to be much of a novelty as they are kenneled literally just up the road). Fortunately, a supporter screenshotted the frankly embarrassing cap-doffing support for hunting because following a barrage of criticism the post was deleted.
