“Brunton House and Holiday Cottages are ideally positioned between Alnwick and Bamburgh in Northumberland, on the edge of the coastal Northumberland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. They are set on an organic farm in the middle of the 2,500 acre Fallodon Estate.” Yet another holiday cottage business in a beautiful part of the world that hosts a hunt – in this case the Percy Hunt, which belongs to the Duke of Northumberland and is kenneled close by on the edge of Alnwick. Monitors found the hunt – which is rarely visited – on Brunton Farm back in October 2020 and the same hunt held a fundraiser (the Percy Hunt Ball) at the same venue in February 2025. No doubt the connections run deeper than those two events, which make it all the more surprising perhaps that under the extensive list of Activities on the Bruton Cottages website there is no mention of the Percy Hunt or hunting – though the wildlife (including red squirrels, deer, otters, and a huge variety of birdlife), fabulous walks, and excellent cycling all get plugged…another venue that doesn’t want to put off potential rental clients by flagging up its support for hunting perhaps?
