Boringdon Park is a friendly golf club in Plymouth…Our comfortable restaurant, bars and café are open to the general public seven days a week, and our modern clubhouse is a renowned weddings, conference and functions venue in Plymouth…” And now it is renowned for hosting hunts – and not just one, but two at the same time! The Lamerton Hunt Ball was to be held at Strawberry Fields in Lifton, but – to quote a November 2024 Plymouth and West Devon Hunt Sabs Facebook post – for unknown reasons Lamerton “accepted the invitation of Dart Vale South Pool and Modbury Harriers to join them for their celebrations…at Boringdon Golf Club! This raises several questions, the most obvious being why the last minute change of venue? Why the secrecy and ambiguity from Strawberry Fields when they could’ve made a statement clearing this up quite easily? Why are the Lamerton having to travel so far away from their country and be grateful for a pathetic ‘plus one’ offer from another hunt…struggling to find venues that tolerate animal abusers perhaps?” With hunts merging left right and centre, perhaps ‘holding a twofer’ will become the new normal. Perhaps Boringdon will explain why they are up for heading the trend though – our Contact form is right here if they’d like to let us know…
