The venue for a meet of the Jed Forest Hunt (whose kennels are also in Hawick) in October 2024 as reported by Scottish Borders Hunt Sabs. The HIT report is well worth reading as it includes a discussion of how hunts in Scotland are attempting to circumvent the ‘two dog limit’ of The Hunting with Dogs (Scotland) Act 2023 and includes the lines “They hunted with 2 dogs but Trevor Adams (sidekick) had a pickup with many more hounds in it? Why Trevor? What were you planning to do? It is illegal to use more than 2 hounds!!” There is not much online on Bedrule itself but a 2017 issue of The Scottish Farmer for inexplicable reasons featured a photo of “BORDERS FARMER John Richardson catching moles on Bedrule Farm, Hawick” – and a YouTube account for the farm features a recent ‘short’ of a young boy holding up a dead mole to the camera with the voiceover “Teaching the next generation to catch moles, and he’s caught one this morning…”
