It is also right in the heart of Wynnstay Hunt country, and close to the the hunt’s kennels and birthplace at Ruabon and the Wynnstay Estate. The relationship between the course and the Wynnstay is longstanding and reflected in the name of a restaurant at the course and the numerous shows and events the Wynnstay holds there (including a ‘let’s get the kids hooked’ meet the hounds fundraiser with the Flint and Denbigh Hunt in March 2024). Talking of killing animals, Bangor-on-Dee has a shameful 61 records on the Race Horse Death Watch website…
