The Badgworthy Land Company Limited is a hunting society founded in 1926 that has acquired large tracts of Exmoor. As long ago as Dec 2004 pro-hunt magazine ‘Horse and Hound’ noted in an article on the upcoming hunting ban that “A popular Exmoor beauty spot has been closed off to walkers by its owner in protest…” It went on to say “The landowner, the Badgworthy Land Company, has strong hunting connections. The company’s chairman, Tom Yandle, also chairs the Devon and Somerset staghounds, and is an outspoken pro-hunt activist.” Twenty years later the Badgworthy Land Company (BLC) still dictates where stag hounds can hunt and Yandle is named on the BLC’s listing on Companies House as ‘Secretary’.
