ALS Civil & Mechanical Engineers are based in Kent and are a utility services provider that undertakes the civil engineering and installation of underground services for the provision of Clean and Waste Water Mains, Gas Mains, Electric Cables, Telecoms Cables and much more.” It would seem that the ‘much more’ mentioned on their ‘About Us’ page includes using one of its vehicles to support fox hunting! A photograph taken by Devon County Hunt Sabs (DCHS) at a meet of the Eggesford Hunt in March 2025 clearly shows a transit van emblazoned with the blue version of the ALS logo. Typically the logo is red, but blue is the colour used on a now dead LinkedIn profile – maybe this was unauthorised use of an older/sold vehicle? It does seem odd that a Kent-based business would be down in Devon supporting the notorious Eggesford, but then the world of hunt-support is a very odd one indeed. If ALS would like to clarify/distance themselves/make excuses, we are all ears. In the meantime we can only note what DCHS wrote: “a group of masked morons arrived in a work van with the signage “ALS Civil Engineering” (a company based in Kent). One of their quads was transported in the back of the van. Two of this group later used their quad to ride down one of our sabs.” Not a good look, ALS, not a good look at all…
