Agritech (Co.Tipperary)

“As one of Ireland’s leading specialist agricultural companies, Agritech are renowned for manufacturing and distributing a range of quality and innovative nutrition and forage products.” So why are we listing them on bloodbusiness.info? That would be because the Managing Director Brian Ó’Slatarra (who is described as a “keen equestrian enthusiast”) is a North Tipperary Foxhounds Huntsman, a joint master and also the treasurer. His brother and fellow Director hunts too. A long cap-doffing article in the pro-hunting The Irish Field from February 2025 noted that “Sadly missing was Seamus Ó’Slatarra, but the family was ably represented by his brother Brian, both master and whipper-in. The family are at the heart and soul of hunting in the area …Brian and Seamus have been at the heart of the hunt in varying roles for almost 40 seasons, a remarkable record.” In a country where (shamefully) hunting foxes is still legal, that will also mean an awful lot of dead wildlife lying at the door of Agritech’s two Directors. On a side note, the same article reinforced the view that hunters were drawn to Ireland when the Hunting Act nobbled their appalling hobby in England and Wales. It states that “never missing a day with the county pack” is Joe Townsend “former master and huntsman of the Hurworth in North Yorkshire”. Hunters over here may pretend to be satisfied with so-called ‘trail hunting’, but the reality is very different…
